200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training

Become a certified yoga teacher through this Yoga Alliance accredited teacher training! Learn the fundamentals of Yoga history, anatomy, alignment, movement, sequencing, hands-on assisting, and observation. Watch your own practice evolve as you harness the yogi spirit and journey back to self. We'll provide you with the teacher training manual, guidance and safe space to learn, practice and grow. Don't plan on teaching? No problem! Learn how to connect more deeply with others and most importantly, yourself in this 200 hour teacher training led by Gina Benson.

Facilitator Bio

Gina Benson, E-500 RYT, YACEP, Ayurveda Practitioner, Holistic Nutritionist, Educator, & Doula.

Gina discovered her deep love and connection to the ancient practice of Yoga during her junior year of college. Yoga offered her a safe place to move, breathe and show up as her most authentic self. Only after practicing for a short period of time she decided to do her 200hr TT with Gopi Kinnicutt, Guara Vani Buchwald, and Radhanath Swami through The Bhakti School of Yoga at Yoga Mandali in Saratoga Springs, NY. After completing her training, and graduating with a B.A. in Psychology and Special Education, her Godmother brought her to India on a pilgrimage where she spent a month traveling the marvelous country where Yoga was born. When Gina returned to the U.S. she moved to New York City where she continued her studies in these ancient Indian sciences. Over the years her love for Yogic philosophy has intensified and she has since become an Ayurveda Practitioner and Holistic Nutritionist studying under Dr. Naina Marballi, completed her 300hr TT at Yogamaya studying under Bryn Chrisman, Stacey Brass-Russel, Edwin Bryant, Jess Parks (& many others) and doula certification through Manhattan Birth under CNM Tanya Wills. 

Gina has had the fortune to study with many teachers who all added to her holistic tool box of limitless knowledge. Gina is a devoted life-long student and hopes to continue to spread the wealth of these ancient studies and practices that enhance our longevity and raise the vibrations of humanity. 

Schedule

  • February 4-6: orientation, 8 limbs of yoga, history, surya namaskar, philosophy, art of sequencing, puttering, anatomy

  • February 18-20: physiology, pranayama, subtle body/chakras, meditation, anatomy, open standing poses, neutral standing poses

  • March 4-6: biomechanics, core/arm balances

  • March 18-20: backbends, inversions, creating the class environment

  • April 8-10: ayurveda, ethics, mantra/sound vibration

  • April 22-24: finals, graduation ceremony 

  • May 13-15: make up weekend/snow day

Fridays 6-9pm: ZOOM

Saturday & Sundays 9am-5pm, 1hr lunch break at 12pm: In Person
